Overview |
Shocker Rowing capped off the spring season at the ACRA National Championships. This year we saw the largest number of entries ever for the championship and extremely tough competition.
The team was well represented in several events at the regatta. Entries were placed in the Men’s 1x, Men’s 2x, Women’s 2x, Women’s Novice 4+, Men’s Novice 8+ and Women’s Varsity 8+.
Our women’s 2x took 5th in the A Final while our Men’s 2x’s came in 7th in the A final and 8th in the B Final. Our men’s 1x took 1st in the petite final after having a tough competition in the time trial.
The women’s novice 4+ finished 2nd in the Petite Final. There is no doubt they learned much from the experience and will bring it to the varsity next year.
The last race of the season for us was the Women’s Varsity 8. They put out solid rows in both the time trial and semi which earned them a good lane in the petite final. Though thy fell short of making the A final this year our women learned a lot and will be ready to take it to the next level in 2019.
