Walk‑On Scholarship Opportunity
Shocker Rowing is proud to announce that, thanks to the continued generosity of Don
and Lee Wadsworth, the program will offer four one‑year scholarships for walk‑on athletes during the upcoming championship season. Each scholarship is
valued at $1,000, and recipients will be announced at the Wichita Frostbite this November.
All qualifying walk‑on athletes who join the program this fall will be eligible for
consideration.
Don and Lee Wadsworth have been long‑time supporters of Shocker Rowing, with Don rowing
for Wichita State from 1976–1979. Their commitment reflects the lasting impact Shocker Rowing has on the university
and the meaningful opportunities it provides for student‑athlete development. As Coach
Calvin Cupp notes, “We are so proud of their support and how it reflects the value
Shocker Rowing adds to the university as well as the opportunities for student development
it provides to the student athletes.”
