Alaa Qaki is a Management Information Systems major who embodies initiative and continuous learning. Drawn to the Barton School for its strong emphasis on applied learning, Alaa appreciates the blend of business strategy and technology that defines his major.

His most impactful experience has been his co-op at Koch Industries, where he applies classroom concepts to real business technology projects. Working on systems used by thousands of employees has strengthened his technical skills and broadened his confidence in communicating between business and IT teams.

Alaa serves as a volunteer with the Youth Committee and Community Dinner programming at the Islamic Society of Wichita and is active in the MIS Club. Service, communication, and teamwork guide his approach to leadership and personal growth.

After graduation, Alaa hopes to work in a role that bridges the space between technology and business operations. His long-term goal is to lead digital transformation projects that improve efficiency, strategy, and innovation.

He draws inspiration from the process of growth itself, finding motivation in challenges that stretch his thinking and help him develop new skills.

Alaa enjoys weight training, staying active, playing video games, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. His hobbies reflect his balanced approach to life: steady discipline supported by creativity and play.

Being named one of Barton’s 25 Under 25 is deeply meaningful to him, representing not only his achievements but his commitment to being part of a community that values leadership, growth, and opportunity.
