Overview

Barbara Bassi graduated from WSU in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, majoring in secondary education and business. While a student at WSU, she served for five years as the student assistant to President Ahlberg. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.

Barbara embraces the W. Frank Barton School of Business focus on preparing and developing the next generation of leaders with a global mindset, and empowering many of our students to study abroad through her scholarship fund. After years of traveling and living in countries around the globe, Barbara knows first-hand the global issues our students will encounter. She appreciates other cultures, and has learned from them enabling her to grow both personally and professionally. She hopes her scholarship fund will provide similar opportunities for WSU students.

Barbara and her husband, Pete (retired President and Chairman of Yum Restaurants International) reside in Newport Coast, California.
