Overview
William “Bill” Moore came to WSU from Kansas City to play football, graduating with honors in 1974 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accountancy. He is the retired president and chief operating officer for Westar Energy.
Mr. Moore has immersed himself in community service. He served as chair for the 2004 United Way of the Plains Campaign and the National Conference for Community and Justice 2005 “Walk as One.” Mr. Moore has served on the boards of Goodwill Industries, Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, INTRUST Financial Corp. and the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce. His involvement at WSU includes the W. Frank Barton School of Business Advisory Board, Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization and the WSU Foundation National Advisory Council. In 2006, he was the recipient of the National Conference Community and Justice Brotherhood/Sisterhood Award.
