Basil Hourani was named the Barton School’s Fall 2022 Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Residents provide Barton School students, faculty and the Wichita community with vital perspectives and knowledge from industry leaders.
Basil is a Co-Founder and Executive Partner of CAPITAL7 and is currently managing
an active
portfolio of investments including operations in Specialty Hospital, Hotel, Casino,
Technology and
Real Estate. Basil’s prior experience includes 25+ years in the healthcare software
and services
industry.
Basil served as President and CEO of Pulse Systems, Inc., a national provider of healthcare
information technology he co-founded. Pulse developed Electronic Medical Records,
Medical
Practice Management and Revenue Cycle Management software solutions, and was later
merged
with Cegedim SA (CGM: Euronext Paris) – a global health technology company based in
Paris,
France. Prior to Pulse, he served as the President and CEO of MEDCAT, a healthcare
software
solutions company he co-founded that was focused on developing and servicing Medical
Practice
Management software and medical transaction services. He serves on several boards
of directors
of for-profit and non-profit organizations.
