Overview

Josh J. Shay was commissioned from Pittsburg State University ROTC in May of 2004. He completed the Armor Officer Basic Course in 2005, AG Captains Career Course in 2011 and CGSOC in 2014. His duty positions include Platoon Leader Co. A2/70TH Armor, Ft. Riley, KS, OPS Officer, MRX Company, Ft. Riley, KS, LNO, Directorate of Culture and Counter Insurgency Ft. Riley, KS, Assistant Brigade S-3, 1/1 ID, Ft. Riley, KS, 1/1 BDE Transition Team S-1, Ft. Riley, KS, G-1 Ops/Action Officer, 35th ID, Ft. Leavenworth, KS, HHD Commander, 35th ID, Ft. Leavenworth, KS, Secretary of the General Staff, 35th ID, Fort Leavenworth, 105th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment Commander and is currently the Kansas Army National Guard Public Affairs Officer. Mr. Shay has received several awards throughout his career which include Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Army Service Ribbon.
