ESCALATIONS: A 3% escalation is typically budgeted for salaries, travel and tuition starting in year 2 of multi-year projects.

Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) Insurance: $831 per academic semester, $333 in summer (pro-rated based on 0.50 FTE appointment)

Tuition: $350.73 per regular credit hour (pro-rated based on 9 credit hours per semester and 0.40 FTE appointment. All grants/contracts exceeding $25,000 that are budgeted with GRAs are required to include student tuition. *Note: Tuition does not include any student fees.

STUDENT WAGES:

Master’s students: varies by department, minimum $8.58 per hour
PhD students: minimum $25,000 (inclusive of health insurance) per year

RADIOACTIVE/HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL FEES:
Principal Investigators whose research/work generates radioactive/hazardous waste should ensure that funds are available for appropriate hazardous waste disposal (either grant funds or SRO funds). Contact the Environmental Health and Safety Office, x7904, for an estimate. To expedite the process, please include a list of radioisotopes and hazardous chemicals, including quantities, to be purchased for your project.
