Haysville GEAR UP aims to expand the college-going culture in Haysville School District. By using an empowerment model that recognizes the assets and needs of local communities, Haysville GEAR UP looks to shift the district educational culture. Haysville GEAR UP aims to develop long-term, successful partnerships to support students in reaching college and providing them with the resources to succeed in college.

Serving USD 261

Haysville was awarded $4.2 million dollars in funding from the U.S. Department of Education on October 2018 to implement GEAR UP through 2025. The grant provides Haysville over $8.4 million in resources annually to devote to college access and success services.

Haysville GEAR UP aims to expand the college-going culture and shift the district education culture in USD 261. Our goals are to increase academic performance and high school graduation. As well as preparing students & families for post-secondary education.

Haysville GEARUP is currently serving a cohort of  882 students.  It is currently comprised of the Class of 2025  and the Class of 2024 from Haysville High School and Campus High School.
