The Public Policy & Management Center (PPMC) at Wichita State University welcomes Monique Garcia, Corinthian Kelly, and Kate Young as new Team PPMC staff members. The PPMC is thrilled to expand resources and capabilities with these exceptional professionals.
“Adding Monique, Corinthian, and Kate to our staff is a tremendous opportunity for the PPMC that will expand the center’s capacity,” said Misty Bruckner, PPMC Director. “Their expertise and passion for our community make each of them invaluable team members who will improve our community and research initiatives.”
Monique Garcia will serve as the Community Initiatives Manager officially beginning June 13, 2022. In this role Monique will oversee the major initiatives and public programs facilitated by the PPMC.
Corinthian Kelly will serve as a Program Manager in community initiatives officially beginning June 13, 2022. His role focuses on public and education programs at the PPMC.
Kate Young joined Team PPMC as a Project Associate to support program initiatives including coordinating resources for Recovery Connect, a Sedgwick County COVID-19 Economic Recovery Program.
The PPMC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works with the public, nonprofit, and private sectors to conduct research, evaluation, training, and community development. Our Purpose is to enhance public service to best serve your community. Monique has nearly 28 years of experience working in local and federal government
and the private sector. Monique worked on Capitol Hill for the Congressional Hispanic
Caucus, for President Clinton’s administration on national drug control policy, and
for President Bush’s administration in the public affairs office of the National Security
Council. Upon her return to Wichita in 2002, she worked for Sedgwick County government
in public health/communications, followed by ICM, Inc., Black Hills Energy, and the
Kansas Health Foundation. Monique earned her bachelor's degree from the University
of Kansas and her MBA from Southwestern College.

Corinthian completed a postgraduate fellowship with the Sedgwick County Manager’s
Office and previously worked with TRIO Educational Opportunity Centers Program at
WSU. Corinthian also directed an after-school program in Baltimore, Maryland and Richmond,
Virginia, and worked with USD 259. Corinthian earned a bachelor’s degree in Public
and Urban Affairs with a minor in Leadership Studies from Virginia Tech, and a Master
of Public Administration from WSU with graduate certificates in City and County Management,
Public Finance, and Nonprofit Management.

Kate is an experienced leadership trainer, facilitator, and ICF, certified coach and has spent the bulk of her career as a consultant supporting public transit agencies and associations nationally. Kate worked for Gannon Consult out of Gloucester, Massachusetts for 10 years. In 2018, Kate founded MayDay Group as her personal consultancy. She previously served as an adjunct professor for Rutgers University, National Transit Institute. Kate brings to the PPMC her passion for investing in communities and building thriving organizations. Kate earned her bachelor’s degree in Medical Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts.
