Kathy Sexton Joins PPMC

WICHITA, KS - The Public Policy & Management Center (PPMC) at Wichita State University welcomes Kathy Sexton as the newest member of Team PPMC. The PPMC is honored to further expand resources and capabilities with Kathy's expertise. 

“We are so excited to welcome Kathy Sexton as our Senior Management Consultant,” said PPMC Director Misty Bruckner. “Kathy's experience will expand capacity and expertise so the PPMC can serve more communities across Kansas and beyond, helping decision makers get the most out of their resources to improve public service and impact communities.”

As the Senior Management Consultant, Kathy will serve as an advisor to PPMC leadership, provide direct services to PPMC clients in local government, economic development, and financial analysis, and generate business development opportunities.

Kathy's 30+ years of professional public service include primarily city and county management (Derby City Manager and Assistant Sedgwick County Manager), as well as several years as a state of Kansas Budget Analyst and a recent six-month stint as Interim Assistant City Manager in Wichita. Her superpowers are in economic development, budgeting & finance, and local government management. Her extensive volunteer leadership experience with nonprofits (Visit Wichita, Derby Community Foundation, Kansas Association of City/County Management, & Wichita Business Coalition on Health Care, among others) make her a natural go-to for strategic business planning, board development, executive coaching, and people management. Kathy has a Master of Public Administration and a BA in English from WSU (which explains why editing/writing skills are her secret sauce).
