Support Suspenders4Hope

Suspenders4Hope is an integral part of the University’s efforts to promote mental wellness and provide resources to students, faculty and staff. The program continues developing high-quality, engaging content for the campus as outreach into the community expands.

Together with #WeSupportU Suspenders4Hope, organizations across all industries, sizes and structures can implement this comprehensive prevention program. Increasing impact and reducing costs allows workplace teams to focus on their core missions while providing staff with important resources to support their mental health.

 

Now, you can help support Suspenders4Hope and efforts to provide these training materials and mental wellness resources in the community:

  • $20 supports a free Preventing Suicide Training and Suspenders4Hope shirt for one person.
  • $50 supports a Suspenders4Hope kit for someone recently hospitalized for a mental health crisis.
  • $250 supports a free in-person community training and Suspenders4Hope shirts for all attendees.
  • $5,000 supports the comprehensive Suspenders4Hope Mental Wellness and Suicide Prevention Program at a high school or college.
  • $25,000 supports Suspenders4Hope kits for all patients for one year at a crisis center or local hospital.

 

 

 

 

 

If you are a student experiencing a psychological or emotional crisis and are in need of immediate help, the following crisis reosurces are available to you. View our Crisis Resources page to learn more about resources available to you.

  • WSU Counseling and Psychological Services (316-978- 4792) --CAPS provides crisis intervention services from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • COMCARE of Sedgwick County Crisis Line (316-660- 7500) -- This is a 24-hour crisis hotline available to all residents of Wichita and surrounding areas.
  • 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline -- 988 is free and confidential to call, available 24/7 to people located in the United States. They provide support and resources for those in distress.
  • Call 911 -- If you are afraid that you will not be able to avoid hurting yourself or someone else, get help immediately. Wichita University Police is also available at 316-978-3450.
  • Via Christi - St. Joseph Emergency Room located at 3600 E Harry, Wichita Kansas -- If you are a Wichita State University student and are afraid of hurting yourself or someone else, get help immediately.
