General Education Learning Outcomes

Copy the sample table below and paste it into your syllabus <tell them where to place it>. Edit the Assignments/Activities column to identify which components in your class achieve each of the learning outcomes in your syllabus. Edit the remaining columns<headings?> to match your course content then check the boxes for which outcomes these assignments address. Attach your completed syllabus to the CIM proposal.

Note: Learning outcomes focus on student behavior and use simple, specific action verbs to describe what students are expected to demonstrate. Measurable learning outcomes are required in all types of courses. Bloom’s taxonomy provides a strong framework for writing learning outcomes with action verbs that are measurable.  Example: https://www.utica.edu/academic/Assessment/new/Blooms%20Taxonomy%20-%20Best.pdf
