October 1904: Fiske Hall begins construction
Fiske Hall, home of the philosophy department, began construction on October 29, 1904 with the laying of the first cornerstone. The building began service in 1905 as a men’s residence hall for Fairmount College, the forerunner of WSU. Fiske Hall received extensive renovations beginning in 2016, and an elevator shaft was added on the east side of the building. The building was rededicated on May 3, 2019.
