About Me
Hello, I'm Jahanvi Thakkar, and I'm thrilled to be a part of Trio Student Support Services as a Database Specialist and Academic Advisor at Wichita State University. Having recently graduated from WSU with a degree in Computer Science, I'm excited to bring my skills and passion for student support to this role.
Coming from a Computer Science background, I'm all about using tech to make things smoother. But hey, let me tell you a bit about myself outside of work—I'm originally from India, but Wichita has been my home for the past five years. And guess what? Three of those years were spent with the awesome folks at TRIO Family, where I found my passion for supporting students.
In my current role within Trio Student Support Services, I am primarily responsible for overseeing the Tracking and Evaluation Component (TEC). The TEC plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and continuous tracking of students' academic progress. As the coordinator of TEC, I maintain project database files, facilitating the generation of comprehensive program activity reports. Central to TEC's mission is the collection, recording, and evaluation of data derived from the services provided to students. Additionally, I spearheaded efforts to identify areas for improvement, generating periodic reports to showcase our progress toward achieving grant-funded objectives. But hey, it's not all about numbers—I also love getting out there for a game of pickleball or badminton, and nothing beats a relaxing swim. Oh, and don't get me started on cooking—experimenting in the kitchen is my jam!
I'm excited to contribute to the vibrant community at Wichita State University and look forward to making a positive impact on the academic journey of our students.
