Lab Assistants are assigned to the SSS Technology Learning Lab located in the 222 Grace Wilkie Hall. Lab Assistant's main responsibilities include helping students navigate computer study skills, aid students navigate financial literacy software programs, and documenting student activities in the lab. Tutors are trained and certified to provide peer tutoring to SSS students in courses that they have received at least a grade of B or better. Applicants are considered for interviews as long as they meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student at WSU
- Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better
- Earned a grade of B- or better in the courses s/he will be tutoring
To be hired, applicants must also possess:
- Good communication skills
- A strong desire to help first generation, limited income students and students with disabilities
- All applications accepted, but preference will be given to students who can tutor in General Education courses especially Humanities.
