Hiring a Massage Therapist
Job Description/Overview
Campus Activities and Recreation Massage Therapists are dedicated in providing safe, professional, and high quality massage practices to students, members and non-members. All therapists should be passionate about their field.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding of anatomy and kinesiology
- City of Wichita Massage Therapist Business registration certificate
- Degree/Certification in the Massage field
- Strong communication skills
Responsibilities
- Attend in-service meetings when required
- Arrive 15 minutes early to appointments
- Accurately log worked hours
- Maintain an appropriate professional demeanor at all times
- Dress in professional clothing with the massage therapist issues Polo shirts
- Act as an ambassador for the Health & fitness department, Campus Activities and Recreation and Wichita State University
- Enforce established rules and policies while in the building
- Be able to modify exercises for the abilities of various participants
- Ensure proper use of all university equipment
- Provide a friendly, positive and customer service oriented environment at all times
- Engage in additional trainings to further their knowledge in the field.
- Report potential hazards and unsafe conditions to your direct supervisor
- Deal with all medical emergencies to the best of your ability/your qualification level
- Other duties as assigned
- Work involves moderate physical activity, prolonged standing and exposure to crèmes/lotions for massage purposes.

Compensation
- $24-$30 per hour
