Cedric Palmer is attending Wichita State to obtain his Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering. However, he was already offered a full-time job before he graduates next year.
Palmer was approached by the Business Unit Manager at Electromech Technologies back in May at the College of Engineering’s Senior Design Open House.
“It’s really cool of WSU to host events like the open house that can provide opportunities for students,” Palmer says.
In Palmer’s position, he represents Electromech for all ongoing orders and prices future orders for customers. He’s building his knowledge of the parts and customer bases to transition to a sales engineer position upon graduation.
“It’s been awesome working with experienced technical engineers, sales engineers, and business managers every day to learn every aspect of the business,” Palmer says.
Palmer is making the most of his position to apply his practical skills in a professional setting. He’s also utilized his LinkedIn profile to connect with the buyers he works with across the country and around the world.
Palmer also has some great advice for other students.
“Put yourself out there. You can never make yourself too marketable,” Palmer says. “More opportunity is always better.”
