celebrating Wu’s 75th Birthday. Banners are on display around the interior of campus
through Sunday, Oct. 8. Winning banners will be announced at Shocker Madness at 6
p.m. at Charles Koch Arena on Saturday, Oct. 7.

WuShock has reached another milestone in Shocker History! Celebrate Wu and 75 years
of bringing Shockers together! Wu’s Birthday Bash features music, games, snacks, cakes,
and your chance to congratulate Wu in person! Wu will be present at Wu’s Birthday
Bash from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Wu’s Birthday Bash is a signature experience of
Shocktoberfest.
Build-a-Friend

Stop by to DIY your own Shocker themed best friend. Pick out your bear plush, give
it a little stuffing, and top it off with a perfectly petite WSU T-Shirt. This event
is exclusive to WSU Students, limit one per student. Available while supplies last.
Dine with the Deans
Wednesday, Oct. 4 | 9 – 11 a.m.

Cost: Free
Stop by for a light breakfast and conversation with the Dean of your academic college.
Learn about what new initiatives are occurring, ask questions, and share knowledge.
Dine with the Deans is a signature experience of Shocktoberfest.
Parade for the Decades
Friday, Oct. 6 | 6 p.m.
Cost: Free
Everyone is invited to attend the 2023 Shocktoberfest Parade, the highlight of the
weeklong celebration of Shocker spirit and pride. Participants will enjoy entertainment
from the Shocker Sound Machine marching band, dance teams, and decorated cars and
floats from student groups and community members. This year’s parade marshal is President
Rick Muma and First Gentleman Rick Case.
Patio Party

Braeburn Square
Cost: Free
After you’ve seen the parade, meet up at Braeburn Square for the Shocktoberfest Patio
Party. This casual and fun-filled gathering promises an unforgettable evening to connect
with Shocker Nation. Enjoy food, drinks, giveaways and live music from Wichita's premier
party band, The Source.
Shocker Volleyball v. Temple
Friday, Oct. 6 | 7 p.m.

Cost: Varies (free to Students with WSU ID
Students can pick-up free tickets to Shocker Volleyball at the box office. Student
organizations are encouraged to attend and participate in the attendance competition.
Participating Spirit Competition teams will also receive points for participation.
Wu’s Big Event

Cost: Free
Wu’s Big Event takes hundreds of Shockers into the Wichita community for a day of
service. Students, faculty, and staff serve area communities and non-profit organizations.
Transportation and lunch is provided.

Fans are invited to a free evening of fun at Charles Koch Arena and a sneak preview
of the WSU men's and women's basketball teams at WSU's annual Shocker Madness season
kickoff event. The event will also include announcements for individual Shocktoberfest
awards and the winning team over the overall trophy. Shocker Madness is a signature
event of Shocktoberfest.
