The Toast

This is our chance to celebrate your years of hard work and dedication to your goal of graduating from WSU! Bring along a few guests and enjoy hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, champagne toast and door prizes. Attending graduates will receive a commemorative WSU champagne flute following a brief program presented by President Muma and WSU administration.

Academic Excellence Celebration

The Academic Excellence Celebration honors student leaders who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement while making meaningful contributions to the campus community. This event recognizes their hard work, dedication to learning and commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

Drum Major Award

The Drum Major Award recognizes an individual who exemplifies the spirit of servant leadership, justice and community impact inspired by the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.. This honor celebrates those who lead with humility, compassion and a deep commitment to uplifting others, creating meaningful and lasting change through service and advocacy.

Case Unity Scholarship

The Case Unity Scholarship recognizes a student who demonstrates a strong commitment to fostering unity and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Presented by Spectrum: LGBTQ & Allies, this scholarship honors leadership, advocacy and contributions that help create a more welcoming and connected campus environment.

First Generation Cord Ceremony

The F1rst Gen Coordinating Council led the charge in obtaining a gold & while braided cord to wear at their graduation. The cord signifies that the student wearing it, is the first in their family to graduate with their collegiate degree (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate).

Lotus of Progress Award

The Lotus of Progress Award honors individuals and organizations who have made a meaningful impact on the Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA) community at Wichita State University and beyond. This recognition celebrates those who uplift others through advocacy, mentorship, cultural leadership and efforts that foster inclusion and empowerment.
