Embracing AI

Wichita States academic strategy welcomes and promotes an ethical, human-centered approach to emerging AI tools and opportunities across all disciplines.

Applied Learning Plus

Through WSU's applied learning focus, our graduates already have an advantage in the job market, and AI competency adds a differentiator that employers are looking for.

AI in Student Research

Where appropriate, we deploy AI tools to amplify undergraduate and graduate student research, increasing efficiency and opening the door to insights not possible before.

WSU's Artificial Intelligence Strategy

Wichita State University seeks to create an academic environment where artificial intelligence is thoughtfully, purposefully and ethically applied to amplify research, improve efficiency and advance creative activity.

Students, Faculty & Staff

Our students and graduates, the human capital we deliver to our partners. We must provide our students with the knowledge and skills to enter the job market “AI-ready” for them to be viable candidates. This includes empowering faculty with the knowledge and tools to deliver that education.

Research

AI has the ability to amplify research efforts in organizations that have been able to incorporate it into their workflows. To unlock our research potential, we must evaluate, test and deploy a wide variety of AI tools for our research community to use on all types of data.

Operations

In an increasingly budget-constrained environment, incorporating AI tools into the hands of our staff that operate the day-to-day business is imperative to cutting costs and increasing the quality of service.

Community & Industry Partners

As an urban public research institution, our community, industry and defense partners look to WSU to provide research, continuing education and services that help them upskill their employees and incorporate new technologies and expertise into their operations.
