Accelerate the discovery, creation and transfer of new knowledge.

In addition to providing an affordable academic experience for each student who enrolls at Wichita State, we are committed to research at the local, regional, and national levels that engage undergraduate and graduate students with their faculty in projects that are focused on changing lives.  Wichita State campus is home to more than 30 research centers and institutes. The focus of research and scholarship at Wichita State is to bring together the intellectual curiosity and strengths of faculty and students from a range of disciplines and give them the support to develop research programs that drive the diversity and growth of the Kansas economy while addressing global challenges. The 2023 academic year is marked with success with over $261 million in total university research and development funding. Wichita State’s focus on accelerating the discovery, creation, and transfer of new knowledge will continue to grow as we increase opportunities for student research and interdisciplinary research projects.
