July 11, 2024 - A nanosatellite will carry and test a Wichita State-designed prototype neutrino detector in low Earth orbit to prove the detector can operate in space and measure the rate of cosmic and gamma rays. In 2021, NASA gave WSU a $2 million grant for the project to flight test a neutrino detector.

July 10, 2024 — Wichita State researcher and biologist Tom Luhring earned a $995,327 grant from the National Science Foundation to study the effects of drying and warming on aquatic systems, such as lakes, rivers, and streams, and how these changes impact the waterbodies themselves and the organisms that dwell within them.

June 12, 2024 — Andrew Hippisley, dean of Wichita State’s Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, has accepted a position as vice provost for Academic Affairs at The University of Texas at Arlington. His last day at WSU will be July 2.
