June 11, 2019 -- Wichita State University will lead a partnership between federal government, industry and academia to conduct research into reducing aircraft noise through the development of a next-generation aircraft engine acoustical liner. The research has implications for the development and use of new aircraft and where they can fly.

June 10, 2019 -- The United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) awarded Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) a $23.5 million contract for Modeling for Affordable, Sustainable Composites (MASC), aimed at developing a certification framework for enabling advanced materials and structural concepts for automated manufacturing.
