WSU wins $750,000 NASA grant to reduce aircraft noise

June 11, 2019 -- Wichita State University will lead a partnership between federal government, industry and academia to conduct research into reducing aircraft noise through the development of a next-generation aircraft engine acoustical liner. The research has implications for the development and use of new aircraft and where they can fly.

Air Force awards WSU-NIAR $23.5 million contract for fleet sustainment

June 10, 2019 -- The United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) awarded Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) a $23.5 million contract for Modeling for Affordable, Sustainable Composites (MASC), aimed at developing a certification framework for enabling advanced materials and structural concepts for automated manufacturing.

Coleen Pugh named new dean of WSU Graduate School

May 30, 2019 -- Coleen Pugh, a professor of Polymer Science at the University of Akron (Ohio), has been named the new dean of the Wichita State University Graduate School and associate vice president for Research and Technology Transfer, effective July 28.
