Dr. Shirley Lefever named next EVP/provost of Wichita State University

April 14, 2022 — Dr. Shirley Lefever has been named as Wichita State University’s next executive vice president and provost, effective immediately.

WSU design to modify planes for wheelchair access gets international recognition

April 7, 2022 — A team from Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research has received international recognition for a design that would allow WC19 certified manual and power wheelchairs to be used as a seat on board commercial airlines.

Two Wichita State alumni win Presidential Awards for Excellence

April 7, 2022 – Two Wichita-area teachers who graduated from Wichita State University’s School of Education were recently recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom by the White House with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

Wichita State designated Age-Friendly University for focus on range of learning opportunities

April 6, 2022 — Wichita State University has been designated an Age-Friendly University for its leadership in research, education and care for older adults. Wichita State is the first institution of higher learning in Kansas to receive this designation. Being recognized as an AFU demonstrates Wichita State’s commitment to promoting healthy and active aging through research, enhanced learning opportunities for people across generations, and innovations that address issues affecting older adults.

Grammy-nominated flutist and composer Allison Loggins-Hull to perform at WSU

March 30, 2022 — Nationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated, African-American flutist and composer Allison Loggins-Hull will make her Wichita debut in a recital for flute and electronics at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3 in Wiedemann Hall.
