Welcome to IEEE-HKN Tutoring
Hello Students,
IEEE-HKN is beginning tutoring for a selection of EECS classes. Tutoring will take place on WuLUG’s Zulip server. Gaining access to this server is described below. Once in the HKN Tutoring server, students can send a message to request tutoring. Students should include in their messages the course name and describe which area they need help with. One-on-one sessions with tutors can be scheduled after a tutor contacts you.

Here are the instructions to access the HKN Tutoring stream in WuLUG’s Zulip server, where tutoring will take place on an individual student basis:
To setup Zulip account:
- Go to https://wulug.zulipchat.com/# .
- Set up a Zulip account by clicking “Sign up”. It will ask for your email. Alternatively, you can sign up with a Google account.
- Once you have set up your account with an email and password, use those to login to Zulip in the future.
To run in browser:
Once you have logged in, you can access Zulip by going to https://wulug.zulipchat.com/. Unless you log out, you should stay logged in.
To run in desktop application (Windows):
- Go to https://zulip.com/apps/windows .
- Click “Download Zulip for Windows”.
- Open the downloaded .exe setup file and run through the setup process.
- Enter “wulug.zulipchat.com” into the “Organization URL” box and click “Connect”.
- If you have not set up an account already, click “Sign up” and follow the prompts. It will ask you for an email and a password.
- If you already setup your account, login with your email and password.
To run on Mobile Device (Must setup account first):
- Download the Zulip app from the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store (Android/Google).
- Enter “wulug” when it asks for the Zulip server URL.
- Login with your email and password.
Once you are logged into Zulip, the HKN Tutoring stream can be accessed under “general” and then “HKN Tutoring”. There students can ask questions and tutors can respond.
