GoBabyGo

Basic premise of the WSU Go Baby Go project is to modify ride-on toy cars in a manner that suits the needs of each child and the local contexts in which he/she will use them. Currently, the Go Baby Go program at Wichita State University is using blueprints from the national Go Baby Go program. The limitation with working from blueprints is that not all children have the same disabilities. For example, replacing the steering system with a start button would work for children with movement in their arms but would not necessarily work for children who cannot move their arms.

GoBabyGo is an outreach program that encourages community based research innovation by providing modified ride-on cars to children birth to age 3 who experience limited mobility. The program started in 2012 at University of Delaware by Dr. Cole Galloway, Director of the Pediatric Mobility Lab and Design Studio and Professor at the University of Delaware. Now GoBabyGo in more than 40 places in US and also in places around the world. [Check out what GoBabyGo in New Zealand]
