Classes are taught in either in the classroom or online as indicated in the course
schedule.
Students can work from their laptop computers or from computer labs on Campus. Students
can access GIS software in the Ablah Library from (specific location / time ).
ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) Software
ArcGIS software student licenses can be obtained from the University IT office for
students to access software necessary for their work in a class. Students can access
software through the myWSU portal under software > Request ArcGIS Access and download
/ license the app.
ArcGIS Online/ Pro
Faculty must request software on students behalf by forwarding a student’s name and
email address to Information Technology Services Director of Client Services at shadi.tafaroji@wichita.edu who in turn can grant a license.
Once granted, access software through: “my.esri.com” ( pre-requisite: user should be part of My Esri organization)
- Navigate to the my.esri.com website.
- Sign in with the correct administrator credentials.
- Click on My Organization > Download.
- Select the preferred product (ArcGIS Pro latest) > View download > Download.
