Copywriting intern at Sullivan Higdon & Sink

What was your favorite part about Sullivan Higdon & Sink (SHS) internship?
SHS gave me a completely different perspective on communication because my role was strictly advertising. I got to assist with ad campaigns alongside my mentor, but my favorite part was the pro bono accounts. I worked with some of the other interns to create a direct mail piece for Wichita Children's Home for their Christmas in July fundraising campaign. Throughout the summer all of the interns got to work on one big project for Starbird Devlin Rods and Customs Charities Car Show. We updated their website, provided them with a calendar and social media plan and created an entire ad campaign to promote the show this coming January.
How did your Co-op help with your classes at the Elliott School?
My internships have been great experiences and each one has given me a different perspective on the possibilites after graduation. Without the ESC and the wide variety of classes I got to take there, I don't think I would have gotten any of these opportunities and I wouldn't haven been prepared for any of them. The work experience tied into my classes and made the coursework more meaningful.
