Join us for a lively discussion about the state of journalism today, challenges in the industry, and more. These prolific journalists (all ESC alums!) will share stories from their time in news, reflect on what they learned in the Elliott School, and take audience questions.
Grab some popcorn! After the panel, stay for some casual networking with the panelists and enjoy a popcorn buffet catered by The Popcorner. We'll have the following flavors for you to mix and match: classic butter, kettle corn, old-time caramel, harvest cheddar, magnificent mix, and fruitti fresh.
Scholarship help! We'll have faculty available directly after this event to help students fill out the Scholarship Universe application if you'd like to stay for assistance. This application makes you eligible for a variety of scholarship opportunities. You can't win a scholarship you don't apply for!

Interactive portrait photography demonstration featuring:
- Patrick Heath - Owner of Patrick Heath Photography
- Emmett Joseph - Owner of Emmett Joseph Photography
Join us for a real-life portrait photography shoot and demonstration. Patrick and Emmett will walk us through the process of setting up backdrops, positioning lighting, and choosing camera settings. Then, they'll conduct a photo shoot with volunteers from the audience! The duo will help us understand how to work with a client and share some expert posing tips so you can nail your next shoot.
Freeze-dried frenzy! After the panel, stay for some casual networking with Patrick and Emmett and enjoy a buffet of freeze-dried treats catered by M.Y. Snackies. We'll have the following freeze-dried treats available for you to mix and match: Charlies (Chocolate covered nougat), Crunchy Bears (Gummy bears), Geek Nuggets (Nerds gummy clusters), Honey Logs (Honey and almond flavored candy), Saltwater Taffy (Mix of flavors), and Ice Cream (Chocolate chip cookie dough)
