Interactive portrait photography demonstration featuring:
- Patrick Heath - Owner of Patrick Heath Photography
- Emmett Joseph - Owner of Emmett Joseph Photography
Join us for a real-life portrait photography shoot and demonstration. Patrick and Emmett will walk us through the process of setting up backdrops, positioning lighting, and choosing camera settings. Then, they'll conduct a photo shoot with volunteers from the audience! The duo will help us understand how to work with a client and share some expert posing tips so you can nail your next shoot.
Stay for a beverage! After the session, we will have a complimentary hot chocolate and coffee bar complete with all the toppings, along with some casual networking time.

Passing the Mic: A conversation with two generations of Shocker sports broadcasters
Two voices. One legacy. Mike Kennedy and Denning Gerig will join us for a conversation about what it means to be The Voice of the Shockers. Denning Gerig, a Wichita State and Elliott School of Communication alum, who previously called games on ESPN+, served as a road color commentator for Shocker baseball, and called independent baseball in Texas for 2 seasons, is the new Voice of the Shockers. Gerig handles play-by-play commentary for Shocker Athletics and started in the 26-27 season. He is joined by his legendary predeccesor and fellow Wichita State alum, Mike Kennedy, who has called Wichita State games for 46 years. He retired as the Voice of the Shockers at the end of the 25-26 season. Kennedy was inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2026.

She even authored a book last year, titled "How Not To F**k Up Your Startup". Join us as Krysta shares how critical communication skills are... not just for entrepreneurs, but for everyone. College students today are embarking into a world that is like nothing we've ever seen before. Krysta will explain how to meet that challenge, exceed expectations and excel in an ever-changing industry landscape.
