College Basketball Reporting Intern

MidMajorBasketball.com is seeking a strong, detail-oriented reporting intern to help cover the

Wichita State men's basketball program and American Conference. This unpaid internship runs

for the entire 2026-27 college basketball season, beginning in September and concluding in

April.

Responsibilities

Produce clean, accurate game stories, news articles and feature stories.
Interview players, coaches and key stakeholders.
Highlight key players, storylines and games involving the Wichita State men's basketball program and its conference.
Produce video and multimedia content to complement written coverage and engage digital audiences.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute as a credentialed media member, providing in-

depth coverage for a leading source of college basketball news. A successful intern will build a

strong portfolio of published writing clips while gaining valuable experience covering college

basketball for a national media outlet.

Interns will also receive hands-on assistance, guidance and training from an experienced staff

with extensive experience covering sports at the highest levels, providing valuable insight into

reporting, interviewing, storytelling and working as a sports journalist.
