The College of Fine Arts (CFA) Advising Center is open (remotely) and we are here for you! Although walk-in advising is not currently available, our CFA Advisors are ready to assist you via phone (316-978-6634 - choose option 2), video or live chat (teams.microsoft.com) or email (cfa.advisor@wichita.edu). Students can schedule an appointment through their myWSU or by calling 316-978-6634 - choose option 2 . Be sure to check your Shocker email on a regular basis for updates from your advisor. We miss seeing our Shockers in person, but your health and safety are important to us!

From the Office of Student Success, Stephanie Cockrell is the Academic Success Coach for the College of Fine Arts. 

Success Coaches provide students with academic support in areas such as time management, procrastination, test preparation, note taking, reading strategies and accountability. They are able to work individually with students, assess their strengths and needs and develop a personalized plan of action. Students are welcome to stop by anytime for assistance, however scheduling a meeting in advance is encouraged. 

If you are required to complete a Success Plan, you should contact your Success Coach to schedule an appointment as soon as you can.

Petition for Exceptions

Students may petition in order to seek exceptions to specific academic rules or regulations. Exceptions petitions from students with the College of Fine Arts are considered first by the College Committee, comprised of Fine Arts faculty and staff, and then by the University committee, comprised of faculty and staff from several academic disciplines at Wichita State.

Dual Advising

For students who are completing their general education at a community college or two-year school, WSU's College of Fine Arts Advising Team will work concurrently with your academic advisors from other institutions to ensure the classes you take elsewhere will transfer and go toward your degree completion at Wichita State.
