Terms of the Scholarship Offer
- Acceptance: Accept your scholarship on your myWSU by the priority date of May 1, 2023.
- Enrollment: Enroll full-time at Wichita State for fall 2023 by June 1, 2023.
- GPA and completed hours: The scholarship you have been offered is contingent upon receipt of your official final college transcripts. If your final transfer GPA and cumulative hours do not reflect the minimum requirements of the award you were offered, your merit scholarship may be revised or withdrawn accordingly.
- Scholarship offers: Scholarships at Wichita State are awarded by university scholarship committees at different times throughout the year. This merit award is an early minimum offer based on an initial review of the academic information you provided during the admissions process. The merit award serves as a general (non-major specific) university scholarship that may later be funded by specific named scholarships after recipients are selected by our various scholarship committees. The prestige and honor of being awarded a named WSU Foundation scholarship has great value and is therefore the preferred source of funding for merit awards. Separate award notifications will be sent if you are selected for a named scholarship, and you will have the opportunity to accept or decline the scholarship. If you accept, the merit award funding reduction or cancellation will be reflected in your financial aid award offer on myWSU.
Required Renewal Criteria for the Scholarship
Your scholarship will automatically be renewed for the next academic year as long as you meet the following criteria:
- Attend Wichita State starting with the fall semester of the 2023-2024 academic year.
- Maintain status as degree-bound, undergraduate student working on their first degree at Wichita State.
- Enroll full-time each fall and spring and EARN at least 24 Wichita State credit hours each year for annual renewal consideration.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at Wichita State.
While full-time enrollment is 12 credit hours, students who wish to graduate in four years typically require an average of 30 credit hours per academic year. This might mean taking 15 hours in the fall and spring, or taking additional courses in the summer to stay on track. Review the catalog for your specific program and graduation requirements.
