Distance Exams

Test Information

Oftentimes, students may be enrolled at other institutions and are required to take exams for their courses. The Office of Student Accommodations & Testing (OSAT) provides testing opportunities for students of other colleges and universities to take their exams in a secure and proctored environment rather than traveling to the destination of their exam. The office can also work with currently enrolled students to obtain approval from their instructors to take their exams at an approved proctored location.

WSU Students Requiring to Test at Another Location

Students who are currently enrolled at Wichita State University and are unable to take an exam in both the classroom setting and OSAT need to obtain approval to use a proctored testing location close to where you live. These requests must be made at the beginning of the semester and failing to request for an approved proctored location may result in delays. Please use the following link below to submit your information.

Proctor Request Form

Proctor Requirements:

  • Be a professional proctored testing location located within a university, college, or business.
  • When a proctor is verified, all tests and testing information will be sent directly to the proctor's professional email address with proctoring guidelines. Exams will not be sent to any personal email addresses. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Must be approved using the proctor request form.
  • Can be a local public library if a professional proctored testing location cannot be identified.

It is the student's responsibility to find a proctor and pay any associated costs for testing. Some qualified testing proctors have been established by Wichita State University, please check with the Office of Student Accommodations & Testing to see if a proctor is set up in your area. It is also the student's responsibility to contact the proctor and set up appointments to take exams.

Students who are living, working, and/or staying outside of the United States must locate their own proctor and these proctors must still meet the aforementioned requirements.

Students of Other Institutions Testing at OSAT

Students who are enrolled at other institutions will be able to use OSAT as an approved proctored testing location. Anyone who would like to take their exam must first contact their institution to inform them of their desire to take an exam at Wichita State University. Many schools require their students to fill out a form so they can get the necessary information sent to Wichita State University.

OSAT distance exams for other institutions requires the following:

  • Pay the administrative fee upon scheduling the exam using RegisterBlast. Fees are subject to change without notice.
  • A valid student ID or government-issued ID (State License, Military ID or Passport)
  • Rules and regulations to be followed set forth in the testing policies

Students who are unsure if their exam materials have been received by OSAT can contact the office before showing up for their exam. If OSAT does not have your exam material, you will need to contact your institution and afterwards, reschedule your exam with our office (if applicable). Please be aware that OSAT will not pay for any shipping charges for an exam or any exam materials. If there is any cost associated with an exam, the student will be responsible for arranging payment with their institutions.
