The information contained on these pages is for employees and prospective employees of Wichita State University only. Employees or prospective employees of WSU Affiliates, including Intercollegiate Athletics, Rhatigan Student Center, and WSU Foundation, should contact the respective local agency human resource office for benefit information.
Wichita State University provides benefits eligible employees with a comprehensive health insurance package through the State of Kansas Employee Health Plan (SEHP) as part of their total compensation. Wichita State University and its HR department do not have the authority to make changes to SEHP coverages or rates offered to state employees. These decisions are made by and on the authority of the Kansas Health Care Commission.
It is the employee's responsibility to stay updated on any changes made to SEHP coverage or plan options. If an employee experiences a qualifying event (e.g., birth of a child, marriage, loss/gain of other coverage), they have 30 days to provide documentation of the event and request any relevant changes to their coverage. Without a qualifying event, employees may only make changes to their health plans during the annual Open Enrollment period.
