Student Information Training

  • Cant find the Banner Student training that you are looking for in myTraining? Some Banner student trainings are not located in myTraining and require preauthorization.
  • Start here with the employee's supervisor following the steps listed in the Banner request for Access to prompt this process.
  • Below are a listing of all of the Banner Student trainings and how to request access.
Banner Request for Access 

 The Registrars office approves all access for Student Records in Banner. In order to request access to Banner Student pages you must submit a Banner request for access.The employees supervisor must include the following information in their request: 

  • Date 
  • Name 
  • myWSU ID 
  • Position Title 
  • Required Banner Classes (if known)
  • Supervisor Name 
  • Reason for Access
    1. Why does this role need access?
    2. Has someone had this access in the past? If so please include their name and myWSU ID. 
  • When is the employee available for training? Please include 3 days and times. 
  • Additional notes?

After access has been approved, a Team Dynamix ticket will be created, the employee will be contacted for training and Banner Student Records training will be setup. Please allow 24 to 48 hours after training for Banner production access to be granted.  

Student Advisor Profile

Banner 9 Student Advisor Profile is a tool used by Academic and Faculty Advisors containing student profile and academic information. This session will involve the introduction to the Student Advisor Profile including features and information available.

  • Must be an Academic or Faculty Advisor to be able to access Banner 9 Student Advisor Profile.  
  • This is a 1 hour session.
Banner 9 Navigation

This training is designed to help users understand how to navigate the Banner 9 landing page features, access and navigate pages and update my Banner.

  • This training is for any staff whose  position requires access to Banner.
  • This is a 1 hour session. 
Data Standards

Training on procedures for staff who have maintenance access to any AIDEN form or GOAMTCH in Banner.

These procedures can be found in the Data Standards – General Person Guide located on the WSU Office of Planning & Analysis’ website under Data Governance & Standards:

Schedule Building

Schedule Building training on building and approving the WSU Schedule of Courses.

  • Schedule Building Sections 1 and 2 are required for new WSU schedule builders responsible for building and approving the WSU Schedule of Courses. Attendees learn to enter the schedule and view information through Banner 9, Self Service and WSU Reporting. Banner 9 Navigation and various Banner catalog and schedule inquiry forms are also incorporated into this intensive training session.
  • Schedule Building Overview for WSU schedule builders responsible for building and approving the WSU Schedule of Courses. NOT a replacement for the full length Schedule Building training offered each summer and winter. This training is a modified version of the full length bi-yearly trainings. It is intended to give an overview and introduction to how Schedule Building works. New WSU schedule builders will still be required to attend the full length Sections 1 and 2 that are required for new WSU schedule builders responsible for building and approving the WSU Schedule of Courses.

Banner Student Records

This training reviews specific Banner 9 Admin pages and their functions based on the employees access and responsibilities. This session will include Banner 9 Navigation.  

  • Preauthorization is required prior to attending training. The employees supervisor must email a request to the Registrar's office for approval. Please follow the steps in the Banner Request for access.
  • Successful completion of FERPA within the past 3 years is required.
  • For Advisors, Chairs, and Support staff whose position requires access to Banner Student information.
  • This session is between 1-3 hours long depending on access.
Banner Faculty Grade Entry

In the Banner 9 Faculty Grade Entry training employees learn to navigate the Banner 9 Faculty Grade Entry screen, pull a class list in Banner Self Service and review WSU Reporting for faculty.

  • This is a 1 hour training session.
