Before You Start Your Class
Before your class begins, you need to turn on the classroom equipment and adjust it to your preferences.
Step 1: Accessing the Blu-ray/DVD Player
Before you start your class, determine if you will need access to the Blu-ray/DVD player. If you need access, you can find the Blu-ray/DVD in the media cabinet (lectern). Please note that although many of these cabinets remain unlocked, occasionally you may encounter a locked media cabinet. If you need to unlock the media cabinet (lectern), you will do so with the C390A key.
If you do not have a C390A key and encounter a locked cabinet, please call (316) 978-3588 and one of our team members will come unlock the lectern for your use.
Step 2: Using the Lectern Features
Height Adjustment:
If you need to adjust the height of the lectern, you can do so by pressing either the “arrow up” or “arrow down” button on the front edge of the lectern.
In-Room Microphone:
If you need the microphone, grab the lavalier microphone off of the top of the desk.
For training steps on how to use the lavalier microphone, please go to the sound/audio set-up webpage.
Blu-ray/DVD:
The Blu-Ray/DVD player is located in the media cabinet and will automatically be powered on when you select the "Start Class" option on the touch panel.
Use the eject button on the front of the Blu-Ray/DVD player to open the disc tray and insert your disc.
Controlling the Blu-Ray/DVD player is done on the touch panel located on the top of the podium.
Document Cameras:
All Master Classrooms come equipped with a document camera. Unlike all other lectern features, the document cameras require the user to manually push the "Power" button on the camera itself to turn it on.
Once the document camera is powered on, you can use the buttons directly on the document camera to operate the zoom in, zoom out, document camera lighting, and adjust the camera's position to best suit your needs.
Step 3: Logging into the Room Computer
If you are going to use the provided PC, you will first need to select the "Start Class" button on the touch panel and indicate if you would like to start with or without the projectors on.
Next, you need to log in with your MyWSU and password. This sign-in does not require the “ad/” prefix before your WSU ID to sign in.
Upon logging in, you will be able to access all of your accounts affiliated with your MyWSU ID.
Please note, it is recommended that you open the presentation materials and applications you will need prior to beginning your class session to ensure everything is operating smoothly ahead of time.
If you have problems during any of these steps, help is available. Call Campus Media Services at 978-3588 for immediate assistance or submit a ticket and a CMS team member will get back to you shortly. If a service technician is unable to help you resolve the error over the phone, one will arrive quickly on-site. Lastly, please note it is essential that you call for assistance while you are experiencing the problem so that we can best troubleshoot the error as it occurs.
