Tutoring for Shocker Academy

Free tutoring services are available for all students taking Shocker Academy courses that are taught by a WSU professor for credit, beginning in August, through WSU’s Office of Student Success! These one-on-one sessions will be held virtually with a trained college level peer tutor from Wichita State, who can work with you not just on course content but also help you gain study strategies for your overall academic success! 

Please note, if you are taking a course from WSU Tech, then you must request a tutor from their center for that class - we will only connect you with a tutor if it is for a WSU taught course. 

Requesting a Tutor

Before requesting a tutor please READ:

  • Our goal is to match you with a tutor that you can work with throughout the semester to assist you with your academic goals.
  • It can take up to 48 hours to be matched with a tutor.
  • We attempt to match all requests but we cannot guarantee that we will have a tutor for all subjects. 
  • All tutoring sessions will be held virtually.
  • Tutoring sessions are limited to 60 minutes. Students may not schedule back-to-back sessions, nor may they schedule more than three sessions each week in one subject or more than five sessions each week in all subjects combined.
