Organization

Get it together.

If you begin the semester with an organizational plan and stick with it, you will discover that you will save a great deal of time and that it makes being a college student much easier.

  • Purchase a three-ring binder, section dividers, a pocket for supplies, a three-hole punch, 3X5 index cards and a stapler.
  • Label a divider for each subject.
  • Behind each divider put the syllabus for the course, followed by your notes dated and numbered, hand-outs, returned assignments and tests. This way, when it is time to study you will have all of the information neatly organized and ready to learn.
  • Finally, make a page for each course where you record all of the grades that you receive and the per cent value of each grade. This lets you know exactly where you stand.

Effective organization takes some effort. If you need assistance, contact your Success Coach. They will be able to help you organize your academic work across all classes and also develop a time plan that will maximize your potential for success!
