nation's leaders in administering a wide-ranging network of TRIO and GEAR UP programs
that drive college access, readiness, enrollment, retention and success.

The TRIO Communication Upward Bound (CUB) is a college prep, academic program targeting
area high school students in the Wichita Public Schools who plan to pursue post-secondary
education and employment in communication fields after completion of high school.
Since 1977, the federally funded TRIO Talent Search (TS) program designed to preapre
and motivate middle school and high school students for postsecondary education in
USD 259 schools.
TRIO Talent Search South (TSS) is a federally funded program designed to preapre and
motivate middle school and high school students for postsecondary education in Truesdell
Middle School and South High School in USD 259.
The TRIO Upward Bound Math Science (UBMS) program is a federally funded program that
prepares eligible students in the target schools of USD 259 and USD 500 to graduate
from high school and pursue degrees and careers in STEM.
The TRIO Upward Bound Wichita Prep (UBWP) program provides eligible students from
USD 259 target schools the opportunity to improve their academic, social and personal
skills while preparing for postsecondary education.
GEAR UP @ Haysville seeks to be a catalyst for expanding the college-going culture
in USD 261. Through the GEAR UP cohort model, the program supports the graduation
classes of 2030 and 2031 from middle school through their first year of college, fostering
a lasting culture of access, opportunity, and success.

Wichita State University’s Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness
for Undergraduate Programs) or KKGU is a college access program that is federally
funded through the U.S. Department of Education designed to help students in foster
care through the state of Kansas prepare for post-secondary education.
TRIO Disability Support Services (DSS) assists students with disabilities who are
eligible for federally funded programs through personalized services, resources, and
academic support, empowering them to persist and graduate from Wichita State University.
The Ronald E. McNair post-baccalaureate Achievement Program is a federally funded
TRIO program prepare 28 eligible Wichita State University students for graduate studies
ultimately leading to a doctoral degree by providing research training and early scholarly
experiences.
The TRIO STEM Student Support Services (STEM-SSS) STEM program provides high-impact
academic, financial, and personal support to help eligible Wichita State University
students who wish to successfully graduate in STEM and health sciences areas.
The primary goal of Student Support Services (SSS) is to help transition, retain and
graduate eligible Wichita State University college students. The program provides
a variety of academic support services that include individualized tutoring, success
skill development, course planning and advising.
The TRIO Veteran Student Support Services (VET-SSS) serves currently enrolled military-affiliated
students — including spouses, dependent children and active duty — attending Wichita
State University. The program provides customized services for these populations to
successfully complete a bachelor's degree.
The TRIO Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) program is a federally funded program
hosted by WSU that provides free counseling and assistance to adults ready to begin
or resume the journey toward their educational goals — whether that's a four-year
college degree, an associate's degree or technical training to enhance your career.
The TRIO Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program serves veterans in Sedgwick, Butler,
Harvey, Reno, Sumner, and Kingman counties. The program connects veterans with postsecondary
educational opportunities, provide them necessary training annd support to enter postsecondary
institution.
