Dave Dahl
Dave Dahl is the Judge of Division 2 of the Sedgwick County District Court. He was
formerly a partner with the law firm of Johnson, Kennedy, Dahl & Willis, specializing
in employment law and small business start-ups, where he helped start over 1,000 businesses.
Dave continues to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sedgwick County
Law Library, and is a former member of the Wichita Bar Association Board of Governors.
He is currently on the board for the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame and the Sedgwick County
Zoo.
Dave received his undergraduate and Master’s degree in Business from Wichita State
University, and his law degree from Washburn University. He was a three year letter
winner and two-time most inspirational player on the Shocker Basketball team. He has
been a radio color commentator on the WSU basketball games for 36 years, and he was
inducted into the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame on July 31, 2010 for his broadcasting.
Dave has taught “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” at WSU for the past thirty-eight
(38) years, and is an award winning Adjunct Professor. He also received the Wichita
State University Alumni Recognition Award in 2012.
Dave has served on many civic and community boards. He was President of The Shocker
Athletic Support Organization in 2004, and is also a past President of the Wichita
State Alumni Association and the Newman University Athletic Council.
Dave is Co-author of the book entitled “Starting and Operating a Business in Kansas”.
As an attorney, a business consultant, an adjunct professor, and a judge handling
a wide variety of cases, Dave has been able to identify 19 traits that many successful
and special people seem to have. He will share 5 of those characteristics with you
today. His goal is to arouse in you a curiosity as to how you can better connect with
your sense of purpose and significance, and to do so regularly in a creative, fun
and fulfilling way.
