We are the Fraternity and Sorority Life Community at Wichita State University. We take pride in our academic achievement, leadership development, our commitment to bettering our communities, and our commitment to bettering our members through brotherhood and sisterhood. We are a community comprised of 26 social, Greek-letter organizations that have a variety of backgrounds, values, and missions. Together, we form the Shocker Greek Community.

Fraternities

Wichita State offers 13 fraternities for students seeking brotherhood and an interest in Fraternity Life.

Sororities

Wichita State offers 13 sororities for students interested in Sorority Life to choose from.

If you are interested in joining a CGC sorority, reach out to each chapter directly. Contact information can be found on the CGC page.

Interfraternity Council

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the governing body and policy-making organization of the North American Interfraternity Conference fraternities and social fraternities. IFC's chief purpose is to coordinate the effort of the individual fraternities in matters of philanthropy, scholarship, leadership and brotherhood.

Multicultural Greek Council

The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is the governing body and policy-making organization of National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated (NPHC), National APIA Panhellenic Association and other culturally based organizations. MGC's chief purpose is to coordinate the effort of the individual fraternities and sororities in matters of service, scholarship, brotherhood/sisterhood, leadership and academic excellence.

National Pan-Hellenic Council

The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. (NPHC), also referred to as the Divine Nine, is the umbrella organization housing nine black Greek-letter organizations. Each of the nine NPHC organizations evolved during a period when African Americans were being denied essential rights and privileges afforded others. The Council looks to foster brotherhood and sisterhood in the pursuit to bring about social change through the development of social programs that would create positive change for Black people and society as a whole.

Panhellenic Council

The Panhellenic Council is the governing body and policy-making organization of the National Panhellenic Conference Sororities. The purpose of the Panhellenic Council is to coordinate the efforts of the individual sororities in matters of philanthropy, scholarship, leadership and sisterhood. We are home to five out of the 26 sororities within the NPC: Alpha Phi, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma
