How to Apply for On-Campus Housing
Imagine the convenience of rolling out of bed and strolling to your morning classes, forging lasting connections with classmates right outside your door, and having easy access to campus resources. Living on campus provides a supportive environment where you can immerse yourself in the full spectrum of college life. So, why just attend college when you can live it? On-campus living fosters a sense of community that extends beyond the classroom. To submit your application, follow the steps below.
Login to your Shocker Housing Portal
To access the Shocker Housing Portal, students can log in to their myWSU online portal using their designated student credentials or use this direct link. Once logged in, navigate to the Application tab, and follow the prompts to submit necessary information and payment. It's crucial for students to adhere to specified deadlines and provide accurate details to ensure a smooth housing assignment process.
Pay your Application Fees
In order for your application to be considered complete, you must pay both the $75 non-refundable application fee and the $200 application prepayment. Only upon successful payment of both the application fee and prepayment will the housing application be considered complete, ensuring eligibility for the upcoming academic year's housing assignment process. Completing your application before specific deadlines will also secure your spot in the room selection process.
Hurry up and Wait
Students are required to partially complete their housing application by paying the $75 application fee and $200 prepayment. However, the remaining sections, including the personal profile and roommate groups/selection, can only be completed after February 15. On or after this date, students can reaccess their application and proceed to the relevant sections to provide their roommate profile details and search other resident profiles they may like to room with.
Pick your Room!
Room selection for the upcoming academic year opens in mid-March and extends through late April. Students who submitted their housing applications before specified deadlines will have the opportunity to select their preferred room and meal plan ahead of those who submitted later. Students are notified via their myWSU email of the date and time of their selection slot. This phased approach ensures a fair and organized room allocation process based on the order of application submissions.
