Steve Feilmeier honored with Fairmount Founders' Award for continued support of Wichita State

May 5, 2023 — Steve Feilmeier was named the recipient of the 2023 Fairmount Founders’ Award at the annual Fairmount Society dinner held on May 4 at Mark Arts. The WSU Foundation and Alumni Engagement gives the award annually to recognize individuals who provide outstanding service and generosity to Wichita State University.

Wichita State adds $4.2 million in student scholarships

May 5, 2023 — The state of Kansas has allocated $4.2 million from the state’s budget (House Bill 2184) to Wichita State for need-based aid. 

Wichita State climbs U.S. News and World Report rankings for engineering and physician associate grad programs

May 1, 2023 — In the most recent graduate school rankings from U.S. News and World Report, Wichita State University’s College of Engineering continued its steady ascent, landing in the 47th spot for the 2023-24 academic year. Additionally, the College of Health Profession’s physician associate program is debuting in the rankings at No. 65.  

WSU's Gateway to IP program leads STEM students into patent law careers

April 28, 2023 — Wichita State University’s Gateway to IP applied learning program gives students the opportunity to learn about a career as a patent agent. Rob Gerlach from the Office of Tech Transfer created the program “with the purpose being to increase Wichita’s IP IQ.”

Owls inspire Wichita State researchers to create soundless propellers

April 27, 2023 — A student-led research team is attempting to replicate owl feathers in its quest to create silent drone propellers. Now NASA has invested in the project with a potential award of up to $82,000.
