Sustainable Energy Solutions

Project Management and Reporting

Project Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Janet Twomey, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, College of Engineering, Wichita State University

This project will be managed by the PI. Management will include the following tasks:

  • Act as the focal point to DOE on all matters pertaining to award administration and forwarding reports and deliverables to the DOE.
  • Act as the liaison to the Kansas Wind Working Group.
  • Evaluate and report progress toward meeting proposed goals, as well as expenditures and budget.

Faculty will meet monthly as a team to report progress and share findings. Industry representatives, and other interested parties (e.g., representatives of the Kansas Wind Working Group) will attend meetings periodically. Faculty will be responsible for reporting their progress and forwarding their deliverables to the PI in the appropriate format, and in accordance with the Federal Assistance Reporting Checklist and the timeline provided by the DOE.

The tasks outlined in this project offer significant opportunities for leveraging expertise and information at their intersections. For example, Wind Energy Integration and Wind System Reliability/Maintainability intersect through sensors and the wireless transmission of information. The Life Cycle Database for Wind Energy Systems intersects all tasks by providing an LCI. The management of this project will create the flow of information described in the tasks above to achieve greater synergy.
