Internship Opportunities

  • AmeriCorps and Vista members work to support organizations to make sustainable change in areas that effect poverty, including education, public health, climate, access to benefits, and more. Through activities such as fundraising, grant writing, research, and volunteer recruitment, you will gain professional experience and leadership skills. This opportunity prepares you for a life of service in the public, private, or nonprofit sector. Part-time AmeriCorp positions are available with 10-20 hours of work per week which includes a regular stipend (up to $4500) as well as additional educational funding up to $1800 after your service is complete.  Students can also earn 1-3 credit hours of internship credit through their service work.   • TurnUp offers remote internships for Civic engagement.  Students join teams who work on amplifying youth civic engagement and learn about responsible activism on many social justice issues. Along with our unique curriculum, peer to peer learning and expert speakers deepen the experience. You may be able to receive college credit for participating. The   program is fully remote, has start dates at the beginning of each month, encourages campus engagement, and has a flexible time frame and schedule. This is the application link.   • Copper Cap Program and Premier College Internship Program For Political Science students looking for a job with great pay, great job security, and using their degree every day, consider Air Force Contracting work.  It involves interpreting and applying laws and policies every day and Political Science students are well prepared for this work environment. The Air Force has more civilian employees than active-duty Airmen; this opportunity does not require enlisting in the Air Force. Jobs can be found at usajobs.gov.
