The Mental Health & Substance Abuse Coalition's mission is to develop a sustainable, accessible and integrated system of care that serves people with mental health and substance abuse disorders who are in crisis, in order to efficiently and effectively deliver services that create positive outcomes.
The PPMC is a key partner in bringing together the Wichita Literacy Coalition, comprised of various stakeholders, to create and implement a collective plan to increase kindergarten readiness for children and families experiencing the greatest need.
Recovery Connect is a Sedgwick County pandemic recovery program that supports individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses with resources to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The PPMC serves as the "hub" in this hub-and-spoke model program.
The PPMC is convening our communities' key players in healthcare and education data to address major issues in the Wichita region and beyond. Working together with the public, nonprofit, and public sectors can create lasting changes we need.
Research Economist & Data Scientist Nigel Soria lead's the PPMC's charge to use economic theory and data to address questions that impact individuals, families, and communities. His expertise includes applied econometrics, causal inference (a component of program evaluation), and predictive modeling.
The study researched the frequent users of behavioral health services (at Ascension Via Christi, COMCARE, & the Substance Abuse Center of Kansas) from 2015-2018 to learn insights that impact service provision and future prevention programs. A disproportionately small number of patients used millions of dollars of services, some of which was paid for through public funding.

This research project evaluated the impact of a Greater Wichita YMCA after school program that serves an average of 4,166 students across 15 middle schools. The program has operated, in partnership with USD 259, for over 25 years.
The PPMC created a citizen survey that was sent to the entire population of Valley Center to determine priorities for the City, which influence budget.
The PPMC created a strategic plan related to customer service, including employee input, users of job centers, and research on best practices.
The PPMC conducted a study to identify best practices and prioritization of future transportation investments in the WAMPO region.
