What is R2S?

Established in 2023, Resource 2 Success is dedicated to supporting incoming students within the WSU community by providing them with the technological resources required for them to successfully graduate from WSU.

Program Initiative

Our primary initiative involves partnering with several on campus organizations to identify and supply qualified students with laptops/Chromebooks as well as technical support for the devices.

Established need

Purchasing a laptop is often a necessary and costly expense that many Freshmen must make before setting foot in the classroom. We are hoping to remove that costly barrier to continuing education for as many students as we can.

 

FAQs

How do I know if I Qualify?

Qualified students must be an active WSU student and a member of one of the following programs:

  • Shocker Promise, Passage to Success, Office of Student Accommodations & Testing (OSAT), or Teacher Apprentice Program (TAP)

You can apply to receive a device by reaching out to the program you are member of.  See the links in the sidebar for each program's website and contact information.

Note Preference is given to first year students who meet certain financial need requirements. 

What kind of device can I expect to receive?

We strive to provide you with a device that meets the basic technical needs required to succeed in your chosen degree path.

Do I get a data plan with the device?

Yes, each of our devices is equipped with unlimited data to ensure that you have access to reliable internet even when you are not on campus.  Currently, the integrated unlimited data plan is provided through T-Mobile.

How do I set up my device?

The device will be provided with the default factory settings, allowing the student to set it up according to their personal academic needs.

For device specific information including tutorials and technical details, a website has been provided by Premier Wireless (a partner group with T-Mobile).

Do I need to return my device over the summer?

No, During your time at WSU, you are not required to return your device at any point.

However, if you choose to leave Wichita State prior to graduation, you will be required to return the device.

Where is the funding coming from?

We are a grant funded program provide through the WSU Provost office.
