The University web page will state whether or not classes will be in session due to inclement weather. You may also call the Activity Line/Weather and Class Status, 978-6633, option 2. Local media (radio and television) are alerted to closings due to inclement weather. Decisions on whether to close campus are generally made by 6:00 am for morning classes and by 3:00 pm for evening sessions.
Please refrain from calling the police department to check on class cancellations.

Sign up information for students, faculty and staff for the Shocker Alert System (SAS) is located on the Emergency Preparedness site. SAS is a free subscription service that sends text messages to mobile devices, alerting the subscriber to emergency conditions occurring on campus. University Police strongly encourage students, faculty and staff to subscribe to this service.
