Wichita State University - Theatre Program Guest Artist: CASSANDRA NUSS
The WSU Theatre Program was honored to host alum Cassandra Nuss in September 2015. Nuss is an Actor, Singer, Model, Voiceover Artist, and Director residing in Los Angeles. Her work spans both stage and screen, and tickles the ears via nearly 10 audiobooks. While on campus she led discussions and workshops in several areas about forging and promoting her career. Cassandra graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Theatre Performance & Dance in December of 2007, the first in her family to receive a college degree!
Shortly after graduation she moved to Los Angeles and has been actively managing her multi-faceted career.
Events scheduled during her visit included:
- Leading participant in the Acting for the Camera class
- Leading participant in the Musical Theatre Auditioning class
- Informal Q&A session and lunch with the students and faculty

Cassandra Marie Nuss stars as Sally Bowles...Nuss infuses Sally with emotional intensity and a passionate desperation that is incredibly moving, and her five-star performance is the show’s most outstanding asset. She nails the title song – from its hesitant,
sorrowful beginning to the decisive, heartbreakingly powerful final chorus — with
such awesome, pain-suffused 
gloriousness that even trying to write about it has literally moved me to tears (a profoundly
rare occurrence that deserves the honest mention). It’s impossible to completely describe just how great Nuss is in this role, but it has been a privilege to try.
